Costa Rica Villas - Architecture and Design

Our architects from Zurcher Arquitectos -- among Costa Rica's leading architectural firms specializing in Costa Rica villas, hotels, resorts, and residences -- have arranged the Costa Rica villas in clusters or communities that surround beautiful pools and lounging areas. In these Costa Rica villas, the architect and design team wanted to create a feeling of integration between outdoors and indoors. They also wanted a roomy, open feeling conducive to a relaxing holiday, and one in which socialization and entertaining form its core. Most of our units feature 23-feet vaulted ceilings, and the open “great room” includes a kitchen, dining area, living room, and ocean view balcony.

Our design focused on providing harmony with two natural elements: 1) the dramatic Pacific Ocean in front of us, and 2) the peaceful and rich emerald rainforest mountains behind us. Each of our villas boasts fantastic ocean views, many with second-story “palapa” decks featuring a front row, birds-eye view of the waves only steps away. Meanwhile, competing with the ocean is a stunning backdrop of green rainforest immediately behind us. Our development partner's motto is “Where the mountains meet the sea”. Kiana Dominical truly delivers a natural cornucopia from which our architects drew for inspiration for these Costa Rica villas.

The team was further inspired by world class resorts particularly from Southeast Asia, but we always stayed true to our Latin American and Costa Rica indigenous identity. For example, we have broken out our 26 villas into four “clusters”, attempting to replicate a small village community with the traditional courtyard at its core. In our case, our courtyard features elevated wooden walkways, four distinct pool designs, each with their own distinct personality, and of course, elegant and lush landscaping providing a stunning background.
